Trouble, I Am In It

So friends, I am in a bit of trouble. Apparently chewing on cables is frowned upon in this establishment.....

(The mommies cut the cable, I didn't chew all the way through.)
They should know by now that I must chew on something for my teeth and to be careful with what they leave lying around. But no, I'm grounded because they were careless.

Hmph. If you need me, I'll be in my cage pouting.

Morgan

My Party

I promised I would tell you all about my party, so here we go!

Last year, I didn't get to help plan my party because they attempted to throw me a surprise birthday party. Even without my input they did a good job with lovely black and white decorations, including balloons with paw prints on them. They even had some sort of human food called "cupcakes" that all the guests loved.

But this year was going to be different. I was going to help with the party planning to make sure an event worthy of a famous library bunny was thrown. I decided to go with my favorite color, purple, along with accents of my other favorite color, green. I wanted amythysts and emeralds suspended from the ceiling, along with silk in those colors draped on the wall. For my treats, I wanted to import the best romaine lettuce I could find and a variety of carrots (did you know they have purple carrots?!). For the humans, I did some research and decided I wanted Duff Goldman from the shows "Ace of Cakes" and "Sugar High" to create a cake to look like the library, complete with a cake sculpture of moi!

Then Ms. Alyssa wanted to know how I planned on paying for all of this. I told her we could ask the library board. They love me.

I then brought up the idea to Mommy Krista who told me, very nicely of course, that there was no way that was happening. I would have to scale down my plans.

Thus I had purple and green streamers and a cake with purple icing. The humans really seemed to like the cake though, so all is well.

We also had things to make at the party. Another of my requests was for a few more bunny friends to play with. Ms. Alyssa asked if I would mind paper bunnies instead of real ones. I said that would be just fine (plus paper bunnies don't need to eat my food). My friends made some lovely bunnies for me that are on display near my cage. We also made rabbit bookmarks for everyone to take home.

And I had a special gift for my friends. I gave all my guests an autographed photo as a "thank you" gift.

But there was one big surprise left for me. My friend Cauli and her minions from the Mooresville Public Library came to my party! And they brought me a lovely gift of carrots! It was a wonderful surprise
.
I hope all my friends had a great time like I did. I can't wait for next year!

Morgan

The Weekly Rabbit Report- Special Edition!

Hello friends! It's a very busy week at the library with lots of special events going on for all ages.

This weekend is the Fall Foliage Festival. Downtown Martinsville will be filled with all sorts of excitement and the library is even getting in on the act!

On Wednesday, October 5th, we will be hosting the awards ceremony announcing the winners of the photography and poetry contests. The ceremony begins at 5pm. We will also be displaying the winners of the contest, as well as some of the other entries. There's always some lovely work so be sure to stop by!

Do you hear a rooster crowing? He must be getting ready for Rooster Tales Storytime with Ms. Joyce at 10:30 and 2:30pm on Thursday, October 6th.

Thursday will also bring Teen Thursdays at 3pm. This week they'll be creating another Mini Haunted House masterpiece.

We have a special event on Thursday evening. We'll have a Local Author Fair from 6:30pm-8pm where you can come and meet some Morgan County authors. They will have copies of their books for purchase or you can bring your own copy for them to sign!

Friday is one busy day. Ms. Bobbie will host a Pumpkin filled Toddler Time at 10:30am.

But the most important events on Friday happen in the afternoon! My party starts at 3:30pm. Registration is required and there are still some spots left! Just go to our website, click on the October events calendar, and sign up. I'm even more excited about the party because my friend Cauli LeChat may make an appearance! Or she will at least send her human minions on her behalf. I hope she can make it because we've never met face to face before. She was even kind enough to write about my party in her blog.

I will also be hosting my regular Sit with the Bunny at 4pm on Friday.

And before I forget, the library will be closed on Sunday, October 9th for the Fall Foliage Festival parade. But no worries, we'll re-open on Monday morning!

Morgan
